The Department of Agricultural Leadership, Education, and Communications, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for one full-time, Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) position in Agricultural Education with a 9-month academic appointment beginning August 1, 2025. Applicants will be considered for the faculty title of Assistant Professor of Practice, depending on qualifications.

The successful candidate will have an 85% Teaching and 15% Service appointment. This position has primary teaching responsibilities while supporting outreach and engagement efforts. Teaching assignments are made by the Associate Department Head, in consultation with the Department Head, to meet the needs of the department. It is anticipated that this position will carry a 3:4 teaching load. Position responsibilities will include: (a) teaching undergraduate courses, including Agricultural Mechanization laboratory courses; (b) supervising student teachers; (c) serving on departmental, college, and university committees; and (d) student organization advising.

Engagement and outreach at the area and state levels with relevant stakeholder groups are expected. The successful applicant will team with the departmental teacher preparation faculty, as well as other departmental faculty, to complete the teaching and stakeholder engagement activities of the department. Service to the department, college, university, professional societies, and stakeholder groups is expected. ALEC is one of 15 academic departments in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Among ALEC's 32 faculty, there are 1 Regents Professor, 3 Endowed Professors, and numerous faculty who are Fellows in international and national professional societies. The Department offers three bachelor's, three master's, one doctorate, and five minors and certificate degree programs with an approximate enrollment of 1,200 undergraduates and 120 graduate students. Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Agricultural Education or a related field is required and must be completed by date of appointment with at least three years of successful secondary agricultural education teaching experience. Preferred qualifications include a doctoral degree (Ed.D. or Ph.D.) in Agricultural Education or a related field. Applicants who have experience in working with the Texas and National FFA Organizations are preferred.
