Join our team as an Office Specialist 2 at the Idaho Department of Parks and
Recreations North Region Office in beautiful Coeur d\'Alene, ID!
In this engaging role, you\'ll support key administrative functions under the direction of our
Administrative Assistant 2. You\'ll provide prompt visitor assistance by offering accurate
information, guiding registration processes (including boating registration), and directing
inquiries to the proper agencies, while also supporting seasonal staff training, managing
financial transactions (cash registers, deposits, credit card processing, and petty cash), and
handling various office administration tasks such as mail distribution, meeting coordination,
document processing, and office equipment maintenance.
This position offers a variable schedule of 24 to 40 hours per week and may be limited to
1,144 hours per fiscal year (July 1 June 30), depending on funding. If youre ready to bring

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Visitor Assistance: Provide accurate and timely information to visitors, guide them
through registration processes (including boating registration), explain pricing and
program details, and direct inquiries to the appropriate agencies.
Staff Support: Oversee the orientation and training of seasonal staff, ensuring they
complete all required training promptly.
Financial Processing: Handle cash register transactions, prepare deposits, process
credit card sales, and manage petty cash in line with established guidelines.

Office Administration: Manage incoming and outgoing mail, coordinate meeting
setups (including refreshments and equipment), assist with document processing
and corrections, and maintain office equipment and supplies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Good knowledge of rules of effective business English usage, spelling,
punctuation, and grammar. Typically gained by a bachelors degree in English,
communications, or a related field; OR 2-4 years of experience drafting, editing, or
proofreading business documents; OR a combination of relevant coursework and
experience.
Experience using alphabetical, numerical, or subject filing systems to include
determining file names, setting up new files, classifying, labeling, filing, and
retrieving documents. Typically gained by work experience managing records in
clerical or administrative roles, organizing information, or receiving training in
document management.
Experience reviewing documents for compliance with established
procedures. Typically gained by work experience in administrative support, quality
control, or document management, where verifying accuracy and adherence to
policies was a primary responsibility.
Experience using a computer to enter and retrieve information. Typically gained
by work experience performing data entry, managing records in office software, or
using databases in an administrative or customer service setting.
Experience answering a business telephone using knowledge of business
telephone procedures and etiquette. Typically gained by experience handling calls
in customer service, reception, or administrative roles where professional phone
communication was a key duty.
