State of Idaho Opportunity

The Idaho State Police is seeking applicants to fill a Technical Records Specialist 1 position in District 1 Patrol. This position provides a variety of records support functions; reviews and processes documents; determines and explains compliance with laws, rules, regulations and policies and takes appropriate action; maintains a manual or computerized records system; performs related work.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Maintain the Records Management System (RMS) to include data entry and specifically working with Tiburon

  • Enter, review, and reconcile data within the National Incident-Based Reporting System (NIBRS)

  • Use a variety of Windows based computer programs to compile statistical data and reports

  • Complete patrol and evidence filing to include scanning, faxing, and emailing documentation

  • Proofread agency correspondence, documentation, and reports for accuracy

  • Process daily In-Custody court documents and archive records when required

  • Complete and distribute digital media requests related to court cases

  • Maintain LifeLoc logs, solution logs, and prepare court documentation

  • Maintain court schedules, subpoena entry and written correspondence related to patrol staff availability

  • Monitor district email accounts to include completing court and prosecutorial documentation requests

  • Process public records requests as required by state law

  • Answer district main phone line and provide assistance to the general public related to Idaho State Police operations

  • Other duties as assigned to include local errands to the post office and bank

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Experience:

  • Monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors

  • Researching a variety of sources to resolve problems

  • Interpreting, explaining and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments

  • Entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system

  • Using word processing software to create and modify documents

  • Working with sensitive or restricted data
