Health First Cardiology APP in Cocoa Beach, Florida
*POSITION SUMMARY: * To be fully engaged in providing No Harm / Quality, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by: providing administrative support and assistance to the position of report and by providing acute, episodic outpatient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and education as an advanced registered nurse practitioner, trained in a clinical specialty.
Manages acute, episodic outpatient care and health maintenance needs of cardiology patients. Development of a plan of care consistent with established clinical protocols. Demonstrates competent skills in therapeutic, cost-effective pharmacologic administration and management. Collaborates with supervising physician(s) in the development of clinical protocols/procedures for the delivery of outpatient and inpatient care. Promotes staff and community enhancement through coordination of in-services to staff, physicians, and partners to promote profession and organization. Works with manager to ensure collaborative problem solving with staff through participation in identification, mediation, and resolution of issues and team problems. Appropriate use and interpretation of diagnostic testing. Provides care to patients in a clean and safe environment. Facilitates the development, implementation, and review of standards of practice, policies and procedures, quality outcome indicators, and other designated work projects to enhance care delivery.
Health assessments may include basic physical. Interpretation of physical assessment findings and diagnostic results in the determination of accurate differential diagnosis. Establishment of appropriate follow-up plan as necessary. Develops and implements formal and informal teaching plans for patients, families, staff, and the community. Promotes patient/family-informed decision-making in treatment plans and options.
Participates in departmental CQI efforts and provides support for the improvement of identified issues. Completes charting and billable assignments in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: APRN or PA Must hold current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain. Prior experience in Cardiology as an APP required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform clinical tasks. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 times daily.
MENTAL DEMANDS: Ability to work in stressful, public contact environments with patients and families of various ages, cultures, and socioeconomic statuses. Must be able to recognize own limits and consult a physician regarding patient care issues. Oversees clinical involvement of support associates during daily clinic operations. Must be courteous and helpful, treating all people with dignity and respect. Must be able to concentrate on multiple priority activities. Must be able to respond efficiently to emergency situations.
