JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Mechanical Designer / Detailer you will support the drawing and detailing work occurring within product development and maintenance lifecycle for escalator, elevator and moving walk systems. Works closely with design engineering as well as other engineering disciplines in the creation and proper documentation of designs to improve product quality, efficiency and reliability.

JOB DUTIES

  • Creation of detailed engineering part drawings, assembly drawings and component BOM’s using KONE designated design software suite (Creo, Windchill, AutoCAD)

  • Apply KONE internal drawing and drafting standards to ensure consistent and accurate representation of components and assemblies for purchasing and manufacturing.

  • Read, understand, interpret, and apply ASTM Y14.5 GD&T Standard.

  • Translates technical guidance received from supervisor or senior engineering staff into usable engineering data applicable to particular assignments.

  • Carries out assignments received from design engineering to support product development of specific parts and components within various phases of a project.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's degree in engineering or other technical field relevant to mechanical design principles.

  • Industry recognized certifications received as part of supplemental training programs preferred.

  • Strong aptitude in Creo & Windchill software preferred.

  • Familiarity with other solid modeling environments will be considered.

  • At least three years professional experience, providing drawing and detailing work, including BoM creation and maintenance for individual components, subassemblies, and complex top-level assemblies.

  • Demonstrated skills in collaboration, brainstorming and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate across engineering disciplines and provide timely response to requests.
