Clyde-Savannah Central School District JV Softball Coach in Clyde, New York

Clyde-Savannah Central School District is looking for a JV Softball coach who is interested in furthering the district mission of educating, inspiring, and empowering our learners to unlock their potential in order to meet the challenges in an ever-changing world. This qualified individual will be able to maintain good public relations with students, parents, community, and media. Additionally, they will serve as a positive role model and provide guidance to develop student-athletes physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and culturally. Clyde-Savannah has a rich athletic history, and we are looking for an individual who will assist in honoring that history while bringing growth and development to our current programs.

This is a part-time position

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPECTATIONS:

  • Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate students' athletic abilities initially and regularly.

  • Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions that promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of and adhere to and keep abreast of rules and regulations set forth by the NYSPHSAA.

  • Monitor and enforce student academic eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.

  • Work with the athletic director on scheduling competitions and coordinating arrangements.

  • Cooperate with other members of the school staff in planning and implementing instructional goals and objectives for the overall educational development of student-athletes.

  • Assist in the selection of equipment and instructional materials.

  • Assume responsibility for compiling, maintaining, and filing all reports, records, and other documents required.

  • Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, and the local board.

  • Support, assist, and work collaboratively with our Clyde-Savannah youth and community athletic programs. Additionally, assist in the development of camps, clinics, open gyms, and meet and greet opportunities with players, parents, and coaches within the C-S community.

Job Qualifications

  • New York State Coaching Certification/CPR, AED, First Aid,

  • Experience in coaching

  • Valid driver’s license

  • DASA and Fingerprint Clearance required.
