Get started! Requisition Summary PACCAR is seeking a Senior Commodity Manager to join a strong and growing Purchasing team. In this role, one will negotiate and manage all aspects of PACCAR's relationship with suppliers, including the commercial/contractual requirements with respect to total cost, technology, delivery, customer service, aftermarket support, logistics and quality. Commodity Managers are change agents, focused on delivering the highest value to internal and external customers at the lowest total cost. Job Functions / Responsibilities Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance and enhanced product quality. Investigate, evaluate, and implement new technologies, strategic procurement strategies, and logistical opportunities. Negotiate and assure supplier compliance to long-term supply and warranty agreements. Issue formal Requests for Information, Proposals and Quotes (RFI's, RFP's, and RFQ's) and analyze responses to select suppliers that meet or exceed PACCAR requirements Collaborate with PACCAR operations worldwide to successfully develop and execute global supply chain and commodity strategies. Communicate and conduct meetings and formal presentations with suppliers, plant, and division personnel at all management levels. Travel to supplier locations to evaluate capabilities, assess production readiness, investigate new opportunities, improve manufacturing efficiencies, and resolve chronic supply and quality issues. Travel to PACCAR's operating locations in support of the above activities Qualifications Minimum of 5 years of purchasing, supply chain, or materials. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form to various levels of management and suppliers. Possess a strong understanding of fundamental contract terms and be able to draft supply contracts. Strong writing skills. Ability to perform advanced analysis on large data sets, draw salient conclusions from such analysis, and cogently present analysis to management. Ability to conceptualize and implement cost savings projects. Ability to direct oneself and act with minimal supervision. Be able to influence supplier behavior to meet PACCAR requirements. Possess an understanding of cost drivers and how changes in those drivers affect cost. Ability to perform market research to identify and evaluate potential new suppliers. Ability to develop sourcing strategies. Experienced negotiator with demonstrated favorable results. Experience sourcing Vehicle Electronics Education Bachelor'sDegree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field. Masters or MBA preferred. PMP Certification preferred.
