Responsibilities
Develops tooling to insure that it will produce quality product at, or in excess of, standard rate of, before tooling is released to production.
Sets up, tries, and develops new tooling including but not limited to new rolls, pre-notch dies, and cutoff dies which have been made to design
Specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models or descriptions and visualizes product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts
Perform tooling maintenance which includes analysis of work required to restore progressive dies, tools, fixture and gauges back to production readiness
Build replacement tooling, new die components, gauges and fixtures to close tolerances as per part drawings
Consult with operations, engineering, and tool planner on optimum product design to fit our capabilities.
Diagnose urgent tooling issues
Knowledge of metal working and metal working equipment
Ensure that the tools and dies are functioning properly in order to meet the production goals and quality standards
Quality and conformance of product to specifications per control plans utilizing TS16949 & ISO14001 documents systems
Troubleshooting and solving tooling problems without assistance
Authority to stop non conforming processes and report to supevisor, Quality assurance or engineering departments
