Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. The job description may be changed and other duties may be required to meet business needs or when circumstances of the job change (emergencies, changes in personnel, workload, equipment or technical development).

A. Customer Service

Ensure that each Guest receives outstanding Guest Service by creating store environments that are fast, friendly, clean and safe.

Communicate Guest requests to management by using the Red Book.

Learn and communicate the location, price, and promotions of products.

Promotes Hutch's Rewards program and suggestive sells

Ensures all areas of the store (including deli) are fully stocked and clean, and products are correctly priced and labeled

B. Operations

Correctly rings up all sales, including sales of alcohol, tobacco, and lottery tickets.

Follows Attendance, Punctuality, & Scheduling Policy. Properly clocks in and out.

Accurately accounts for spoilage, waste, bad merchandise, refunds and voided transactions

Accurately accounts for ALL money and records ALL sales throughout shift.

C. Safety & Maintenance

Follows company policy in regard to store emergencies and accidents

Follows company policy with regard to excessive cash in registers, safe, and vendor procedures

Protects company assets and controls inventory while on shift

Follows policy for checking and recording temperature of food, food equipment and refrigeration equipment.

Responsible for cleanliness of entire store and lot, including windows, floors, shelving, parking lot and fuel pumps during shift, with specific responsibilities being assigned by the Manager On Duty.

Immediately opens work order on IPAD for maintenance issues and documents in the Red Book.

D. Food Service Operations

Follows Job Aides and proper build-tos to prep and prepare food items;

Accurately uses made and waste sheets

Ensures all warmers, coolers, and displays in deli areas are fully stocked and fronted at all times based on planograms.

Properly cleans and sanitizes all deli equipment several times throughout shift.

Rotates and dates products;

Washes hands frequently, wears gloves when preparing food, and follows all hygiene and safety procedures

E. Required Skills and Physical Abilities

Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as business dictates

Ability to explain and enforce applicable laws and operating policies and procedures

Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers in a professional and courteous manner.

Must be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision under stressful conditions.

Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store.

Ability to perform repetitive standing, stooping, and bending, lift up to 50 pounds & climb ladders

Ability to tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products.

Ability to sweep and mop floors, dust shelves, bend and clean areas such as bathrooms, and lift and carry out trash containers and place in an outside bin.

Ability to stand up for entirety of scheduled shift.

Ability to enter and work in a cooler at a temperature of 28 degrees and a freezer of 0 to10 degrees below zero.
