Job Summary

AECOM’s Water Business Line is seeking a creative, highly talented Water / Wastewater Project Engineer for immediate employment to be based out of one of AECOM‘s Ohio Offices. The qualified applicant should have extensive experience leading the analysis and design of water/wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems and conveyance and experience or interest in Project Management, developing technical staff and maintaining client relationships.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Senior technical resource may serve as technical advisor for team

  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

  • Develops study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

  • Develops construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.

  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of PS&E package.

  • Performs quality control review of design calculations or drawings.

  • Prepares technical specification sections.

  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS and 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited university

  • 10 years of progressive experience in municipal water/wastewater infrastructure design, assessment, and rehabilitation, including treatment, conveyance and pumping systems.

  • Professional Engineer in Ohio or ability to obtain reciprocity within six (6) months of hire

  • Experience in coordination with regulatory agencies

  • Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering

  • Project Management Experience

  • Experience presenting at professional conferences, leading technical workshops

  • Demonstrated experience in leading complex municipal Water / Wastewater projects

  • Experience developing junior staff and leading multidiscipline project design teams.

  • Ability to work independently; strong interpersonal, negotiating, problem-solving, analytical skills
