ASCO Power Technologies, an industry leader in the manufacturing of Automatic Transfer Switches, Industrial Control Products, Load Banks, Power Control Systems, Services and Solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for a Test Technician based out of Cleveland, Ohio.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Tests, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies production test equipment applying principles and theories of electronics, electrical circuitry, engineering mathematics and electronic and electrical testing.**

Responsibilities:

  • Discusses assembly procedures and problems with engineering personnel.
  • Draws sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of load bank units.
  • Tests prototype models according to engineering instructions, technical manuals and knowledge of electronic systems and components.
  • Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
  • Sets up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance.
  • May write technical reports and develop charts, graphs and schematics to describe and illustrate system’s operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications and functional limitations for consideration by engineers.
  • May instruct other technical personnel.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Knowledge of circuitry.
  • Prior experience with electrical test equipment
