University Hospitals Health System Systems Administrator (Hybrid) in Cleveland, Ohio

Description Position Summary Primarily responsible for directly addressing server service and support issues impacting end users. Works closely with other IT&S functions to ensure issues are resolved in a timely and successful manner. Performs configuration and installation of enterprise server, storage and backup technologies to support moves, adds, and changes ensuring minimal disruption in service. Provides hands-on assistance with installation, troubleshooting, and diagnostic support. Essential Functions Timely responds to escalated Help Desk Trouble Tickets and handles related issues. Performs on-site analysis, diagnosis and resolution of server problems. Monitors and manages server resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency. Accurately documents instances of server failure, repair, installation, and removal. Oversees and administers an expanding VMWare ESX environment. Installs, configures, tests, maintains and troubleshoots Windows servers, related hardware and software. Collaborates with Desktop Support group, Helpdesk, and internal customers to ensure efficient operation of University Hospitals systems infrastructure. Supports and manages the daily operations of various server technologies such as Windows, Citrix XenApp and Unix. Supports and manages the daily operations of HP storage technologies. Supports and manages the daily operations of an enterprise backup technology - TSM. Participates in on-call service rotation; provides 24 x 7 production support on a rotating basis. Performs occasional night/weekend work as assigned. Required For All Jobs Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards.
