Abeona Staff Accountant in Cleveland, Ohio
The Staff Accountant will work directly with the Controller to assists in all aspects of Abeona's accounting and finance activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with monthly, quarterly and year-end close, and other internal reporting requirements including preparation of required journal entries.
Be responsible for account reconciliations including bank accounts, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other assignments.
Work with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, take part in compliance, and look over schedules for the reporting processes.
Maintain fixed asset ledger, reconciliation and quarterly journal entries related to depreciation.
Responsible for banking activity including tracking previous day balance, action any fraud alerts from the bank, updating daily cash files, transferring cash to fund anticipated payments, prepare and maintain records of bank transactions and prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
Responsible for monthly/quarterly AR customer invoices and deposits.
Review accounts payable payments and be ad-hoc support for accounts payable vendor requests.
Provide user assistance for accounting systems (Netsuite) including training of new users, navigating and troubleshooting within Netsuite, and preparing saved searches and required reports.
Provide systems management for Concur including new user setups and maintenance of roles, users, managers, etc. as well as providing ad hoc user training and questions.
Aid in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP.
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field
Minimum 3 years of work experience in accounting, public accounting experience strongly preferred
Strong general accounting and reconciliations skills
Financial Reporting software experience
Strong Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Proven ability to maintain highly confidential information
Strong interpersonal skills to interface with all disciplines and levels
Detail-oriented
