Robert Half Sr. Accountant in CLEVELAND, Ohio
This Senior Accountant position will support the Controller and is responsible for accuracy of financial data, including but not limited to cost accounting, margin analysis, account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, fixed asset maintenance, planning and process improvements. Preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, analyzing cash flow, creating budgets and forecasts, preparing audits, and managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting are among the key responsibilities for this role. Your responsibilities in this role
Perform variance analysis and work with operations on material variances.
Assist with month financial statements, journal entries and monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
Assist with physical inventory at year-end.
Track and reconcile asset purchases and accumulated depreciation.
Calculate and report key metrics to achieve goals and drive process improvements.
Assist in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Offer involvement in various department-wide initiatives
Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Successfully collaborate with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, controls and provide support on special requests when necessary
Produce monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes

Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Proficient in ERP systems
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Understanding of corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
Able to manage time well
Deep understanding of manufacturing, cost, & inventory
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
Excellent attention to detail
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
2+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Strong familiarity with journal entries
Standard costs experience preferred
Fixed assets experience desired
