Insight Global Senior Data Analyst in Cleveland, Ohio

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Data Analyst for one of our largest clients in Downtown Cleveland. The Analyst will be responsible for supporting the assessment, design, and monitoring of an enterprise data repository, being tasked with understanding key business imperatives and translating them into data requirements. They will be responsible for analyzing existing systems, identifying changes that need to be made, and working with data engineers to achieve those changes.

Compensation:

$94,000-120,000

Additional Responsibilities Include:

 Work with SMEs and IT peers to research, review, and recommend data and datasets that are fit for purpose.

 Partner with the business and other IT groups to understand, document and source data.

 Work with the Data Governance Team to ensure that governance objectives align with the Enterprise Data strategy.

 Work with business representatives to understand needs and collaborate in generating the best solution to solve business needs.

 Understanding of Data Profiling concepts to support data quality efforts.

 Drive best in class data engineering practices that include standard software development life cycle practices.

 Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives.

 Collaborate with source system teams to effectively synchronize data elements while reducing dual storage requirements as much as possible.

 Collaborate with downstream systems to ensure data is understood and meets the requirements of consumers.

 Participate with the development of team norms, support agile methodologies, and participate within the Agile community. Share Agile best practices with the program.

 Lead the creation and implementation of high impact internal team process improvement. Ensure cooperation with peer functional areas.

 Ability to support simultaneous work efforts. Manage multiple across program projects, assignments, and priorities.

Skills and Requirements

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.

 5+ years of total IT experience, 3+ years of data analysis experience.

 Heavy SQL experience will need to know how to write in and read SQL.

 Ability to understand Linux scripting.

o Client uses embedded SQL code within a Linux script.

 Strong experience with Microsoft tools such as Excel (Vlookups), Word, PowerPoint, etc.

o Will need to know how to make drawings portraying how data is flowing from point A to point B.

 Experience with data warehousing and data constructs.

 Strong Documentation experience System Flows, Data Flows, Process Flows.

 Ability to trace through code and tables to understand how current processes are running in order to develop future solutions and enhancements. Knowledge of Agile, Jira, and ETL

 Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, Microstrategy, etc.

 Understanding of version control (client uses Github).

 Exposure to Data Governance techniques.

 Experience being a part of an Oracle ERP or Snowflake migration null
