Millennia Housing Management Security Manager in Cleveland, Ohio

Position Overview

The Millennia Companies has an immediate opening for a Building Security Manager at Key Tower in downtown Cleveland. The Security Manager ensures effective operations of the Security department at the facility. This position oversees the supervision and training of employees, operations, and asset protections, and coordinating the security department for the safety of Key Tower tenants, its employees, clients, and guests.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Supervise Security Officers and/or Lobby Attendants assigned for shift.

  • Prepare for and conduct shift change - ensuring the Security Team is aware of events and their assigned job duties.

  • Coordinate security activities and information with the team members.

  • Train new employees on post assignments and general security expectations.

  • Ensure the safety and security of the building and its attendants.

  • Perform and assign routine walks of the facility perimeter inside and out.

  • Identify potential hazards and inform appropriate staff.

  • Write and review daily logs and reports.

  • Investigate, document and report accidents and incidents.

  • Respond to emergency situations as applicable and/or as requested.

  • Monitor team activities at assigned posts and verify reporting accuracy.

  • Provide ongoing training to team members and document such training activities.

  • Oversee scheduling of employees to ensure adequate security coverage.

  • Monitor employees' attendance and discuss attendance trends, concerns, and potential overtime issues; submit appropriate and accurate documentation of attendance related paperwork to HR.

  • Manage and access control systems and fire/life safety systems.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Education and Experiences:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor or advanced degree preferred

  • 1-2 years' experience working in security

  • 7 years security supervisory experience or similar management experience preferred

  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment with 24/7 coverage required Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills: must display utmost customer service to all Key Tower tenants, its employees, clients, and guests.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding the Company, employees, events, clients and all related matters regarding such parties.

  • Detail oriented and excellent organizational skills: accuracy is essential.

  • Ability to work and function both independently and in a team environment

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability and willingness to work irregular hours dependent upon facility and event needs, including but not limited to evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Expected Hours of Work & Travel

  • Days and work hours are generally Monday through Friday but may require evening and/or weekend shifts.

  • Travel may be required with personal vehicle and reimbursed as necessary.
