1 PURPOSE OF POSITION

1.1 To conduct inspection of manufactured product to the customer's specifications and maintain compliance with the Quality Systems standard(s).

2 BASIC FUNCTIONS OF THE QUALITY INSPECTOR

 2.1       The basic function of the Quality Inspector is:

2.1.1 Able to perform all duties, responsibilities and requirements of a Production Operator.

2.1.2 Understand first piece inspection requirements, floor or bench inspection and last inspection of product.

2.1.3 Responsible for release of product to warehouse.

2.1.4 Operate various types of measuring and inspection equipment.

2.1.5 Perform internal audit as assigned by Quality Coordinator.

2.1.6 Understands the basic principles of quality control and the principle used in process inspection.

2.1.7 Ensure that the Quality System Policies and Procedures and Documentation are understood implemented and maintained at all levels of the organization.

3   REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

3.1 The Quality Inspector is selected by the Quality Manager and reports to the Quality Manager.

4  JOB REQUIREMENTS

4.2       EDUCATION

4.2.1 Required: High school diploma or equivalent

4.2.2 Preferred: College degree in quality related field.

4.3        LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

4.3.1 Required: None

4.3.2 Preferred: Certified Quality Inspector (CQI)

4.4       EXPERIENCE

4.4.1 Requires: One or more years' experience as production operator. Experience with Quality System standards for various business types

4.5       SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES

4.5.1 Able to read and interpret blue prints and customer drawings.

4.5.2 Able to utilize various types of measuring and inspection equipment.

4.5.3 Ability to listen courteously and effectively communicate in a clear professional manner, in English, both verbal and written, in an effort to create a positive working environment.

4.5.4 Ability to effectively plan and carry out the activities associated with the Quality System.

4.5.5 Ability to operate various computer programs found in a Quality System environment.
