DescriptionThe Hotel Cleveland is seeking an experienced Pastry Cook to join our team. The Pastry Cook will exhibit baking and decorating talents by personally performing tasks in preparing quality and consistent pastries and baked goods resort-wide. This Marriott Autograph Collection property opened in 1918, has 491 newly renovated rooms and 60,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. Ensures compliance with all local, state and federal (OSHA, ASI and Health Department) regulations. Maintains resort safety procedures and the ability to follow loss prevention policies to prevent accidents and control costs. Ensures we are properly working with supplies and manage inventories according to budget. Performs all other duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: Knowledgeable on the fundamentals of pastry techniques and plate presentations. 2 years of related experience and/or education is required. Must be able to work flexible shifts that include evening, weekends, and holidays. TABC certified, Tips Trained and Food Handlers certification are all highly preferred. The ideal candidate will be organized and able to work with a sense of urgency and seeking guest satisfaction. Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, transport up to 50 lbs.
