OMJCC OMJCC- Resident Care Assistant in Cleveland, Ohio

Ohio Means Jobs-Cleveland Cuyahoga County is sourcing for Resident Care Assistants for a local employer with the ability to work in Highland Heights or Strongsville.  JOB SUMMARY The Resident Care Assistant will be responsible for providing personal care services, assistance, support and supervision to residents. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS 1. Provide personal care services, assistance, support and supervision to residents. 2. Assist residents as needed with activities of daily living including, but not limited to: bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, personal hygiene, and mobility. 3. Document personal care services provided to residents. 4. Respond to resident call system, verbal calls, and emergencies; provide first-aid assistance; and arrange for appropriate medical attention and follow-up, and alert Nurse as needed. 5. Chaperone residents to appointments or activities outside the facility when requested. 6. Transport residents or assist residents in walking as needed. 7. Clean the residents' apartments between weekly cleaning as needed. 8. Assist with resident laundry as needed. 9. Assist with preparing meals, serving meals and cleaning up during mealtime. 10. Assist with social programs; conduct activities as assigned by supervisor. 11. Be available for resident, family, and staff feedback and problem solving. 12. Working overtime and/or staying beyond the scheduled shift may be required if necessary, and rotating shifts may be required to meet staffing needs of the facility. 13. Punctuality and regular attendance on the premises during scheduled shifts and work hours. 14. Adhere to and carry out all facility policies and procedures, including all policies set forth in the employee handbook. 15. Carry out any other duties as assigned by Nurse. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS 1. Maintains good attendance and punctuality and follows call-off procedures. 2. Consistently shows good and accurate communication skills with residents, co-workers, supervisors, family members and visitors. 3. Consistently follows safety procedures and reports safety concerns to supervisor. 4. Consistently neat, clean and well-groomed and follows dress code. 5. Shows cooperation by consistently working well with others and responding well to supervision. 6. Shows respect for other's rights and property by consistently following the resident rights and taking good care of facility supplies and equipment. 7. Quality of work consistently meets performance standards and quantity of work consistently meets productivity standards. 8. Consistently demonstrates a good understanding of job duties and attends required in-service training. WORKING CONDITIONS 1. Heated and air-conditioned, well-lit facility with minimal barriers. 2. Lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds, using proper body mechanics and/or available equipment. 3. Bending or kneeling for up to 15 consecutive minutes to perform cleaning tasks. 4. Working 3-3.75 hours standing, walking and moving about without the need to sit down. 5. Working with cleaning chemicals. JOB QUALIFICATIONS 1. High school diploma or GED, with reading, writing and comprehension ability at the 12th-grade level or higher. 2. Training or experience as a nursing assistant or home health aide. 3.
