Summary:

Performs various patient care duties, clerical activities and cleaning duties in the delivery of high quality care to children through adults. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Required: HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam Graduate of an accredited medical assistant program Have and maintain a BLS Certification from the AHA One year of full-time experience (or a minimum of 2000 hours of experience in a part-time capacity) in patient care working in a surgical setting or surgical practice office (not including externship). Good interpersonal skills Demonstrates good judgment, flexibility, initiative, and has the ability to problem solve. All qualified applicants must pass the Medical Assistant pre-employment screening written test with a score of 80% or better and the pre-employment screening skills test with a 75% or better score.

Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance. Ability to push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids. Requires some exposure to chemicals and cleaning products.
