Job Title: Make Ready Engineering Technician

Job Description

Seeking a Make Ready Engineering Technician to coordinate and design joint use pole attachments and deliver make ready recommendations. This role involves collaborating with Engineering Team Members to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of all aerial-related projects. Responsibilities include determining appropriate scopes of pole installs in compliance with NESC standards, utility pole owner regulations, and spacing and midspans regulations. The candidate will gather necessary information from field collection processes to identify pole owners and complete required applications. The role may also require field inspections and site walks. Additionally, the technician will use pole collection software to review utility poles and field notes to devise the most accurate make ready solutions, perform structural loading calculations, and provide solutions for poles that are not viable for new attachments.

Hard Skills

  • Experience with Katapult, IKE GPS, O-Calc, SPIDAcalc, or similar programs

  • OH/Overhead Distribution design background

  • Prior experience in utilities or telecom design

  • Knowledge of NESC Standards

  • Proficient in pole collection software such as Katapult, IKE, SPIDAcalc, Ocalc

This is a fully remote position.
