The Sherwin-Williams Company Lead Print Operator in Cleveland, Ohio

Lead Print Operator is responsible for operating various production equipment and coordinating daily production with a team of print operators. With the guidance of the Print Center Specialist, the Lead Print Operator will help direct a team of operators on multiple aspects of production operations in supporting the Print Center. This is to include the tasks of proofing, printing, finishing, quality control, delivery, safety, and continuous improvement of daily production. This position will lead operators to surpass expectations, improve efficiency, and deliver quality output. Daily Production Work with Print Center Specialist and assist with daily prioritization and management of work volumes. Ensure production is running on all equipment as needed/required and the print team is deployed as scheduled. Proficiently operate all print production and bindery equipment within the department. Effectively review job ticket specifications and instructions; stock description, quantity, size, printing/finishing requirements, and final stage of operation. Assist with coordination of finishing needs. Responsible for tracking order status and moving jobs through systems accordingly. Responsible for Quality Control of finished goods. Make sure service calls are placed for equipment as needed. Troubleshoot equipment with technicians as needed. Work with Print Center Specialist to develop and implement new production procedures or improve on existing procedures. This involves ensuring all procedures are followed on a continuous basis. Leading/Training Operators Work with Operators to ensure they understand production needs daily. Train the Operators on new and current procedures/equipment as needed. Ensure duties are being handled appropriately daily and deadlines are met. Work with Print Center Specialist to review and address production and personnel issues in a timely manner. Responsible for effective communication of production directives and other information to the team. Inventory Management Review supplies daily and work with the Print Center Specialist to order items as needed to ensure production is not negatively impacted. Accurately maintain stock records of paper, ink, and other production supplies. Accurately maintain records of calibrations, routine, and preventative maintenance across all production equipment. Formal Education & Certification High School Degree Knowledge & Experience Required 5+ years of relevant industry experience, including, but not limited to, Commercial Printing, Bindery, or Mail House Operations in a high-volume environment. 5+ years of experience in Digital Printing. Experience working in deadline driven, fast paced production environment. Thorough understanding of print production, bindery operations, and general manufacturing. Understanding of paper stocks, envelopes, substrates, coatings, and other materials. Preferred Experience operating InkJet and Toner Digital Printers, Duplo saddle stitcher, MBO folder, guillotine cutter, and other bindery finishing equipment. Wide Format printing experience Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment faults. Personal Attributes Attentive to detail.
