The Sherwin-Williams Company IT Project Manager in Cleveland, Ohio

The IT Project Manager is responsible for directly managing large, cross-functional infrastructure initiatives involving internal and external vendor and/or managed service resources for the Sherwin Williams Retail and the Stores' IT portfolio. The role is responsible for directly managing cross-functional initiatives involving multiple internal IT and business departments / divisions, external vendors and/or managed service resources. In addition, this role will lead by example to peers for the delivery of projects across the group. This position will participate in formalizing, guiding, and maintaining processes, metrics, and reporting to measure the team's ability to meet objectives for our business customers. Strategy & Planning Work with management to generate and maintain monthly project implementation, process improvement, and system maintenance work plans. Able to directionally obtain high level project estimates/budgets. Recommend improvements for the project management process. Ability to learn what could negatively and positively impact a projects success. Learn to coordinate across PSG IT departments on new initiatives, features, releases, and the underlying dependencies during development, testing, and launch. Acquisition & Deployment Over time able to manage multiple projects, assignments and priorities simultaneously. Execute project from inception through to full operation, including definition of the project scope, charter, development of the statement of work, budget estimates, project activities, deliverables, and success criteria. Able to learn how to create and maintain project plans including definition of project tasks and deliverables. Open to learning how to request and allocate resources based on project requirements and availability. Generate project status reports and manage expectations as agreed upon to all stakeholders. Work directly with project team members to track progress, identify and resolve issues, and facilitate project completion. Proactively identify, record, and mitigate risks. Facilitate project closure to reflect upon successes, failures, and lessons learned. Operational Management Learn to create and maintain work effort and budget reports. Work with existing systems to track and manage requests and issues. Provide business reports to management and clients as assigned. Identify and facilitate opportunities to improve processes as initiatives transition through lifecycle from strategy, design, implementation, and support. Incidental Functions Ability to speak with all levels of the organization and collaborate and build consensus. Prepare and lead presentations as requested. Assist with other projects as required to contribute to efficiency and effectiveness of the work. Minimal travel, up to 5%, may be required Work outside the standard office 7.5 hour workday may be required. Formal Education & Certification Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) or in lieu of a degree, at least 12 years in experience in the field of Information Technology or Business (work experience or a combination of education and work experience in the field of Information Technology or Business). PMI Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred. Knowledge & Experience 2+ years IT and/or Business experience 2+ years hands on experience managing IT projects or Business projects. Well versed in Microsoft Office applications and Project Management tools including Visio, Excel and/or Microsoft Project. Broad base of technology and business experience including strategy, design, implementation, operations for application development organizations.
