The Sherwin-Williams Company IT Director, Project Management in Cleveland, Ohio
The IT Director, Project Management, will be responsible for elevating our strategy to accelerate organic growth and margin expansion by driving Portfolio Management Excellence. This position will support active portfolio management projects across the Sherwin-Williams enterprise. The IT Director, Project Management must be able to effectively lead and influence teams to drive priorities across all business functions and deliver on time and on budget. Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. As the Director Project Management, you will be responsible for managing a team of project managers and overseeing all aspects of projects within multiple business units to ensure timelines and budgets are being met with a high standard of quality Agile knowledge and implementation experience to help all those initiatives / projects that currently operate in waterfall but are in the transition journey to agile Ability to lead and support initiatives / projects of complex nature that requires both waterfall and agile ways of working considerations and tool ecosystem Actively partner with other cross-functional leaders especially Director, Agile Team and Agile Product Delivery to collaborate initiatives that are partially traditional and agile You will influence all levels of operations to drive culture and performance improvement Directly oversee and support a portfolio of projects being implemented in the enterprise Manages resource allocation for project work as well as manages hiring and staffing plans according to budget to ensure the project work can be performed successfully and works to ensure projects are allocated based on experience and development opportunities Build relationships across the enterprise to be able to effectively remove roadblocks in the delivery project requirements Develops clear and concise change management strategies and assist with bringing all team members along in the change management plan of action Develops and implements best practices and tools to increase efficiency, boost productivity, and achieve project and business goals Builds rapport and strong working relationships with internal and external customers to handle escalations based on resources constraints, process questions and exceptions needed Track and report overall progress of all projects in your assigned portfolio to the executive leadership internally and external customer Design, develop, implement and improve processes for the enterprise project management office Implement and manage project governance standards for project delivery across the enterprise FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) or in lieu of a degree, at least 12 years of experience in the field of Information Technology or Business (work experience or a combination of education and work experience in the field of Information Technology or Business). Preferred: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) Certified Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certified Lean Portfolio Management (LPM) KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: 12+ years of IT experience 8+ years of experience managing direct reports 8+ years of experience in program management 8+ years of experience in portfolio management Strong understanding of product development methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Lean, Waterfall).
