Reimagine What's Possible We are seeking a Fleet Engineer Specialist within our Engineering and Maintenance Team. This position can be US-Residence Based but will require occasional travel. The Fleet Engineering Specialist will provide a broad range of support for the North American Fleet, including technical direction and project management for new and existing cryogenic liquid and gaseous industrial gas transport equipment including power units, bulk & liquid trailers, microbulk vehicles, rail cars, light-duty vehicles, and Hydrogen for Mobility equipment. The position will be instrumental in supporting product development and standardization of equipment/components to meet business requirements for safety, efficiency, and reliability through value engineering, bench marking and improving supplier partnerships. The Fleet Engineering Specialist position is part of a central fleet team whose mission is to provide cost effective and timely support to Distribution, Maintenance, Asset Management, and Business. We strive to deliver EH&S excellence, productivity, standardization, and reliability for our transport equipment. In order to achieve our goal, we will be relying on your technical and project management skills. Principal Accountabilities: Managing your workload and performance to assure projects, rehab/repairs and engineering support are done in the most efficient manner. Building value by delivering results with a sense of urgency Developing and maintaining transport equipment drawings, specifications, schematics and BOMs Collaborating with the fleet maintenance community to monitor and improve preventative maintenance practices. Collaborating with suppliers, vendors, and contractors to minimize overall costs. Improving procedures to promote safe and efficient work processes and designs. Ensuring compliance and influencing change with DOT, Transport Canada, OSHA regulations and Air Products policies and procedures Implementing the management of change process for assigned fleet assets. Supporting incident investigations and conducting failure analysis to identify root causes and corrective actions. Qualifications: High school diploma required and a preference for a 2-year Technical Diploma 5-10 years' fleet maintenance experience with industrial gas transport equipment. Strong technical skills and an interest to use them is important, along with solid interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of fabrication techniques and procedures, e.g., welding, NDT, pressure testing, etc. Strong leadership and project management skills and ability to complete projects on-budget and on-schedule. Positive attitude, Self-motivating, capable of understanding basic philosophies, and applying philosophies to required tasks with minimal guidance. Proficient in suite of Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Ability to learn and use Smart Sketch. Self-starter with the ability to plan his/her own activities (including maintenance planning) for safe and reliable operation within budget limitations. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, good interpersonal skills to work with multi-functional team, such as outside repair shops, fleet maintenance personnel, equipment supplier representatives and sourcing. An understanding of or a desire to learn regulations and laws pertaining to over the road transport equipment. Experience with and knowledge of Environmental, Health and Safety Standards
