Applewood Centers Clinical Supervisor – Community Based Programs in Cleveland, Ohio

Applewood Centers is a private, nonprofit agency providing mental health services, social services and education to children, adolescents and families living in Cuyahoga and Lorain counties. Dedicated to addressing a variety of behavioral, emotional and learning problems, we provide a continuum of care from outpatient counseling to residential treatment.

Position Summary:

Our In Home Program is comprised of our Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) program which serves children up to age 6 who are experiencing overwhelming stress, have experienced trauma, are having behavioral difficulties or other concerns that might affect the parent or caregivers ability to parent or a centers ability to provide child care.  This department also provides community based Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy  (TFCBT) through grants and contracts as well as Family Preservation Services.   The qualified independently licensed clinician with supervision designation will provide guidance, instruction and direct supervision to assigned therapists and interns. As the Clinical Supervisor, you will monitor, conduct chart reviews and compliance monitoring as well as facilitate therapists' acquisition of skills for delivery of assessment, psychotherapy, TBS/CPST, as well as staff implementation of selected evidence based treatment models.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Implementing Early Childhood Mental Health programs at Applewood Centers within the In Home/Home Based Department.

  • Implementing TFCBT contract and Family Preservation Services within the In Home/Home Based Department.

  • Provide direction, coordination, along with clinical and administrative supervision to the team...

  • Conduct or coordinate staff training that will provide the skills necessary to implement the programs.

  • Provide services in homes or child care centers as needed.

  • Provide administrative supervision of the program and staff.

  • Supervise and assure the maintenance of adequate and timely client records, reports and billing.

  • Assure that standards/regulations set by accrediting and/or licensing bodies are maintained by staff.

  • Provides consultation and input on intake decisions as requested and assist the Intake Department in coordinating referrals for the department programs.

  • Represent the agency in the development or maintenance of relationships with other organizations including child care centers, sister agencies, public agencies, funders and referral sources.

  • Work in coordination with the department heads and Human Resource staff to hire the appropriate staff.

  • Assure that the staff participates in agency outcomes research to evaluate the program’s effectiveness.

  • Assist in the development of proposal writing and fundraising activities.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or related field

  • Minimum Valid Ohio LISW-S, LPCC-S, or LIMFT-S required

  • Proven experience in public relations, community development and both clinical and administrative supervision.

  • Experience providing or supervising services in the community setting. 

  • Strong clinical skills including expertise in early childhood mental health, systemic family therapy, crisis intervention, family education, behavioral interventions, and consultation services preferred.

  • Sensitivity in relating to persons of varying backgrounds and demonstrate ability to work with diverse groups of people possessing various strengths, aptitudes and abilities.

  • Practical and creative problem solving skills.

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets the underwriting criteria of the Agency’s insurance company. Must be approved by Applewood to transport clients in own vehicle.
