This is a job for a Clerk Administrative position with a company located in Cleveland, MS.

Job Summary:Performs a range of clerical duties related to the support of operations of the medical clinic.

Duties: Interacts professionally with patients/families; treats patients and their families with respect and dignity. Effectively and appropriately communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers, demonstrating customer service excellence through application of positive language principles, appropriate response and use of constructive problem-solving techniques which foster positive outcomes. Maintains accurate and continued documentation appropriately; Documentation meets current standards and policies. Performs all clerical/computer functions to support patient care delivery. Answers the telephone in a professional and courteous manner, takes messages, directs calls to appropriate personnel. Registers all patients using sign-in sheets, gives new patients medical forms to complete. Coordinates daily patient flow activities. Verifies patient demographic, employment, and insurance information. Explains billing policies, collects co-payments/self-payments, provides receipts, balances cash drawer. Schedules new and return appointments; explains registration process and gives directions to new patients; may explain procedure preparation to patients. Photocopies,faxes, and scansinformation, including lab and test results, asrequestedbystaff.

Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED), or equivalent, preferred.

Required Skills: Requirements will include successful completion of orientation checklist and skills/credentials/competency requirements of specific area of work. Able to maintain a high awareness of customer satisfaction and teamwork. Attention to detail. Demonstrates proficient time management skills. Excellent written, verbal and communication skills. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Adaptable to performing well under pressure in a stressful environment, taking appropriate action professionally and calmly. Must be flexible, able to work as needed for appropriate departmental coverage. Proficient computer knowledge. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Sufficient proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing the English language necessary to perform the essential functions of this job, especially with regard to activities impacting patient or employee safety or security. Additional languages preferred.

Experience: Minimum one (1) year experience in hospital/clinic office setting, preferred. Medical Billing experience, preferred.
