SUMMARY

Bahnson Mechanical Systems is seeking a Lead Pipefitter Welder. This individual will follow all safety rules and regulations and work as a part of a team daily. The Lead Pipefitter Welder position will lead a small group of Pipefitter Welders and will work under the guidance of a Field Superintendent/Foreman or Project Manager depending on location of the work assignment.

Key Duties

Lead small groups of Pipefitter Welders and assist with the following duties as well.

• Lay out, assemble, install, and maintains pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling and industrial production and processing systems.

• Selects type and size of pipe, and related materials and equipment, such as supports, hangers according to drawings and specifications.

• Thread pipe, using pipe threading machine.

• Bend pipe, using pipe bending tools and pipe bending machine.

• Assemble and install variety of metal and nonmetal pipes, tubes, and fittings, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic.

• Connect pipes, using threaded, welding, mechanical connections, caulked, soldered, brazed, fused, or cemented joints, using hand tools and power tools.

• Secure pipes to structure with supports, brackets, clamps, and hangers, using hand tools and power tools

• Install and maintains hydraulic and pneumatic components of machines and equipment, such as pumps and cylinders, using hand tools.

• Perform hydromantic and pneumatic leak test of piping systems.

• Install, bends cut threads and cut piping.

• Fit pipe for welding

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of industrial pipefitting/welding experience

• Experience supervising and performing installation of sheet metal, duct systems, piping systems, and refrigeration projects

• Experience working with the following pipe systems and materials: solder, Victaulic, threaded, brazed, ProPress / MegaPress, copper, iron, PVC / CPVC

• Experience with the following systems: mechanical, refrigeration, steam, and condensate

• Able to read and understand pipe isometric drawings.

• Must have a valid driver's license with insurable driving record

• Previous use of electrical and manual tools required.

• Experience operating safety equipment and use of safe construction work habits.

• Experience leading and working in a team environment with high safety and quality standards.

• Ability to take on additional responsibilities as needed as well as determine and manage priorities with minimal guidance

• Strong mechanical aptitude with openness and ability to learn.

• Plumbing knowledge a plus.

• Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
