MISSION SUPPORT Quality Assurance Engineer in CLEARFIELD, Utah
Mission Support is a manufacturing and overhaul facility providing structural subassemblies and components to the aerospace industry. We are presently searching for a quality engineer to help support the growth of our business.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working with the procurement team to ensure technical data is reviewed for accuracy and provided to suppliers accurately.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes with the goal of continuously improving process performance.
- Work with suppliers to improve supplier quality and delivery performance, as well as root-cause analysis and conducting supplier visits and audits.
- Proactively participate with customers and suppliers on the determination of required product specifications.
- Assist with QA Dept. in inspecting incoming parts as well as in-process inspections of assemblies in house.
- Create Quality Inspection plans for the QA and Production Depts. to ensure all products meet quality control standards.
- Work with QA and Production to implement NADCAP compliance for heat treat, NDI, plating, and welding processes.
- Assist with Production planner for in-house part manufacturing processes.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Familiarity with legacy aircraft blueprints.
- Familiarity with all types of aerospace sheet metal forming.
- Familiarity with precision machining, both lathe and mill.
- Ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes at the shop floor level, GD&T, and proficient use of precision measuring gauges.
- Experience in an Aerospace QA inspection or other relevant industry
- Knowledge of ISO9001 / AS9100
- BSME, ASQ, CQE or trade school Certification in CAD design and / or aerospace engineering experience is a plus.
- Must possess a strong skill set with 3D CAD programs such as Mastercam, Verisurf, NX/Unigraphics, MBD, Pro Engineer, AutoCAD, Polyworks or Solidworks.
