In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our legacy Injectable Finished Products (IFP) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. Position Purpose
This position will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day capital projects. The scope of projects related can range from scoping of equipment, design, install & qualification planning to a more complex facility modification or even construction. Incumbent will be responsible for ensuring project schedule, scope & budget are adhered to according to approved project plan. This role will also be responsible for generating business cases related to project & presenting to local & global management structures to attain funding & approvals.
Accountabilities
Lead / manage the execution of capital projects according to company policies & procedures
Creates detailed business case & present to senior management within NN
Work with outside design firms to bring projects (equipment &/or systems) from conceptual design phase to execution
Maintains effective communication & ensure alignment in coordination with multiple project teams
Manage major milestones, schedules & monthly cost plans through Clarity PEM process
Responsible for stakeholder management & communications to management, project team & other involved units
Assist with any training required of personnel supporting the project
Coaching & mentoring of project team
Responsible for managing project change control process to ensure project remains within defined scope, budget & schedule
Tracking of project performance, metrics & KPI’s
Assist with any training required of personnel supporting the project
Follow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
Other accountabilities, as assigned
Required Qualifications
BA/BS degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent combination of experience & education
Desired Qualifications
Advanced Project Management competencies obtained through relevant PM training or experience
Minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience in facility infrastructure as well as manufacturing experience in a pharmaceutical environment
Minimum of five (5) years of proven project / portfolio management skills with major capital projects
Ability to read/review design drawings (CAD) with a basic understanding of P&ID, HVAC, & electrical systems
Understanding of complicated product documentation & standard operating procedures with attention to high-level concepts
Working knowledge/experience of building & utility equipment
Demonstrates functional/business understanding
Demonstrates superior written & oral communication skills
Extensive knowledge of project management
Develops & maintains strong internal relationships
Proficiency at problem solving, negotiation, conflict management, & interpersonal skills
Demonstrates leadership skills; can act as project lead & lead cross functional project teams in the development & implementation of projects
Has the ability to influence others on objectives & projects outcomes
Basic understanding of contractual documents & ability to create work plans & detailed project schedules
Proven project management experience with direct management of multiple projects simultaneously
Proven expertise in mentoring/development, planning/organizing, managing execution, & revising the work plan for complex problems solved by cross functional teams
Initiative, ability to function independently
Good judgment in decision making as well as very good leadership skills
Functions well in team environment
Physical & Other Requirements
Occasionally moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions
Requires ability to move throughout the facility in the performance of duties in proximity of process equipment & areas
Constantly operates a computer & other office equipment using hands
Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection
Ability to work the hours necessary to support a 24/7 continuous manufacturing operation
Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction
Ability to adjust schedule to work with colleagues in other international time zones
Ability to travel internationally, as requested (up to 10%)
