Mountain Lakes Medical Center Environmental Services Technician in Clayton, Georgia

*JOB SUMMARY *

Maintain sanitary conditions and general cleanliness of the facility in compliance with standard procedures of the Housekeeping department and in compliance with hospital objectives. Maintain related records as appropriate.

Job Type: Full-time;

2 Positions Available, Shifts are 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Rotating

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

Clean assigned areas on a daily basis, using established schedules and prescribed methods.

Daily cleaning duties include, but are not limited to:

Patient rooms

Wards

Nursing stations

Lounges

Laboratories

Bathrooms

Offices

Prescribed methods for daily cleaning includes, but are not limited to:

Dust horizontal surfaces that collect dust.

Empty waste baskets, remove trash and clean ashtrays.

Damp wipe and clean all furniture.

Clean and polish metal and porcelain fixtures in the bathrooms.

Dry and wet mop floors of rooms and offices.

Spot clean walls, window, and polish metal surfaces.

Replenish room supplies.

Make beds and perform patient check-out cleaning as assigned.

Spot-clean carpets as assigned.

Sort and distribute linens.

Assist in witnessed spills, and when requested.

Maintain cleanliness of assigned equipment.

Request repair of assigned equipment as necessary.

Request repair of hospital equipment, furniture, fixtures, or building component when the need is observed.

Perform assigned duties in the event of internal or external disaster.

Keep Housekeeping area clean at all times, performing duties as necessary and at least once per day.

Ensure safe storage off equipment and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environments.

Maintain habits of good personal hygiene and follow rules of conduct.

Complete necessary forms and reports.

Maintains and cleans lobby throughout shift: Vacuums rug, cleans front windows

Performs other duties as assigned.

* QUALIFICATIONS*

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • Completion of elementary education, or otherwise show ability to read.
  • Follow oral and written directions.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous hospital experience, or completion or appropriate training program preferred.
