We are looking for a Construction Category Supplier Manager, to support the development of contracting strategies, the strategic evaluation of the construction supply base, and the negotiation of multi-million-dollar contracts to drive the execution of multiple Semiconductor Fabrication facilities in Clay, NY.

In this position you will support building and cultivating the Global, Regional and local supply base necessary for project execution, driving supplier performance, analyzing complex bid responses against benchmark data and aligning with multiple internal and external entities for success.

The Construction Category manager must have the ability to adapt to new tools and processes as required!

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Site Supplier Performance and Relationships

  • Support procurement process for designated areas and accounts

  • Negotiate with suppliers to meet business needs

  • Support capital budgeting and cash flow management, and the execution of Global Procurement strategies

  • Support cost saving initiatives and metric management

  • Develop deep knowledge to serve as a consultant for procurement process and supplier issues.

  • Support site audits

  • Participate in negotiations for construction contract and incorporate savings targets and contract requirements into conversations

  • Support sourcing events/RFQ process

  • Support development of a contract strategy for each project, including to create, negotiate, supervise and implement contracted terms and conditions

  • Align with Global Facilities collaborators and sites teams to build comprehensive view of supplier performance to build comprehensive view Supplier's performances

  • Contract Administration ensuring all contractual obligations are being fulfilled by both Owner and Contractor

  • Support overall Strategic Supplier relationships for construction category

  • Collaborate internally to drive and develop key performance measures/metrics for Strategic Suppliers and supervise supplier performance against these expectations to ensure continuous supplier improvement

  • Support prioritizing and delivering on strategic supplier events, such as Quarterly Business Reviews, Annual Supplier Evaluations, and Executive Review Meetings

  • Build and Implement Construction Category Strategy

  • Participate in supplier segmentation and strategic goal setting

  • Collect & provide market intelligence and price trends to relevant internal partners on a well-adapted schedule

  • Support should-cost models for assigned categories that are benchmarked and relevant to the global marketplace

  • Become the subject matter authority for construction procurement category and share knowledge with key partners and Indirect teams to enable more effective planning, forecasting and execution

Supervisory Support

  • Support procurement leadership by supervising project sourcing team members and project level staffing support plans

  • Support documenting project level procurement strategies and timelines

  • Support project level priorities and supervising progress to plan

  • < 25% Travel as needed

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, higher preferred (Field of Study: Construction Management, Major Engineering discipline or Supply Chain Management preferred) Master’s Degree or MBA a plus

Experience ( via education or prior job experience)

  • Knowledge of Construction, construction management and/or construction procurement or contracting

  • Construction contract negotiation and administration

  • Proficient in MS office

  • Delivering presentations that are technical in nature

Additional Preferred Experience

  • Experience with industry-standard contracts (FIDIC or AIA) and/or Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) contracting

  • Knowledge of CSA and MEP systems, generally accepted standards of workmanship in construction and infrastructure systems

  • Knowledge of innovative construction practices, may include BIM (or greater) technology, pre-fabrication, etc.

  • Knowledge of project controls and standard project reporting

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$92,000.00 - $157,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
