Job Title: Embossing Machine Operator

Location: Clarksville, TN

Shift: 2nd Shift

Job Summary:

The embossing operator for the Cover Department will manually operate a Sheridan press that will emboss a material using an arrangement of various dies to complete a high quality cover. The incumbent will work in conjunction with other operators within the Cover department to successfully complete high quality covers using proper registration. Registration is a multi-step process in applying more than one application of ink or other medium. This requires following standards for productivity and quality and meeting departmental goals. Attention to detail is important as the embossing operator must understand equipment needs and perform minor maintenance as needed. Operator might be required to move around the department and work/train on different equipment or on an as needed basis.

Qualifications:

  • High school degree or GED required.

  • Embossing operator experience or equivalent machine operator skills preferred.

  • Ability to comprehend the art design specifications and use those specifications to properly align and set up a “make ready.”

  • Have a strong aptitude for mechanical assembly operations with experience in operation, troubleshooting and maintenance of production equipment.

  • Proficient in reading measuring devices and perform calculations precise and accurately using typical hand and power tools.

  • Ability to read and follow directions and work independently.

  • Must successfully complete basic machine training within the department.

  • Must be a team player.

  • Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, special work instruction and any other special customer requirements.

  • Must have basic computer and organizational skills

  • Willing to work any shift, flexible hours and overtime with short notice.

  • Good Communication skills, written and verbal

  • Must have high attention to quality and detail.

  • Works well under the pressure of deadlines.

  • Must have the flexibility to learn and use new technology.

  • Must be able to properly lift 10 to 50 lbs. to shoulder height.

  • Excellent attendance.
