As a fast-growing B2B industrial manufacturing company, we are looking for an EHS Manager (Manufacturing) based out of our manufacturing plant in Clare, Michigan. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations at the manufacturing plant with a dotted line to the Vice President of EHS, this position's primary responsibility is to strategically manage the overall safety program for Rite-Hite's manufacturing facility. This role ensures a safe and compliant work environment, minimizes risk, and promotes a culture of safety plantwide. The full job description and experience requirements are listed below. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

Working with Corporate Safety, HR, and plant leadership team, develops annual EHS Action Plan for the plant.

 

Facilitate leadership involvement and participation in the safety program and promoting a strong safety culture through monthly updates and a safety scorecard on leading and lagging safety indicators. Assist leaders with incorporating safety into business planning, meetings, and goals.

 

Investigates individual accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes. Prepares detailed reports and identifies possible recommendations and corrective actions to prevent similar incidents in the future and communicates these to senior leadership. Cooperates in the preparation of material and evidence for organization use in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations. Reports any severe injuries to agencies as required.

 

Analyzes accident history and trends of organization and plant to identify problem areas and develops plans for improvement. Conduct risk assessments and hazard analysis to identify potential hazards in the workplace. Work with plant leadership to implement corrective action plans.

 

Design and implement general safety, security, and environmental policies and procedures to be followed by organization personnel in compliance with local, state, federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Environment Protection Agency (EPA) rules and regulations.

 

Develop and manage a health and safety-oriented work philosophy among employees that drives a strong safety culture within the plant. This includes development of training materials, safe operating procedures (SOPs), job safety analysis, safety awareness campaigns, safety committees and incentive programs.

 

Develop and manage emergency response plans and procedures. Coordinate safety drills (fire, active threat, severe weather, etc.) and ensure staff is prepared for emergencies.

 

Perform regular safety inspections and audits of the workplace, equipment, and practices. Identify unsafe conditions and practices. Collaborate with plant leadership and provide corrective recommendations on items found. Coordinate and oversee any third-party safety audits or inspections as required.

 

Compiles and submits 300 log and 300A data online as required by regulatory agencies.
