Robert Half International Human Resources (HR) Manager in CLACKAMAS, Oregon

Description The Human Resource Manager will lead the Human Resources function within the company including recruiting, compensation, benefits, leave, workers’ compensation, Performance Management and Employee relations. This role oversees two facilities and requires a hands on approach to perform tasks, complete projects, and conduct strategic analysis for planning and development of human resources initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.

• Generates reports, researches, and provides metrics data to spot trends, gaps for strategic analysis to share with management and recommend solutions and improvements to human resources programs.

• Maintains clear communication and collaboration with accounting on compensation programs, workforce planning and budget considerations.

• Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

• Works with managers to facilitate separation process for both voluntary and involuntary terminations.

• Acts as the liaison with workers’ compensation carrier on claims and return to work programs.

• Keeps current on laws and regulations by attending seminars, reading professional publications, and maintaining professional membership and/or certification. Keeps managers informed of changes and makes recommendations for policy changes and updates handbook as needed.

• Maintains strict confidence in all personnel matters. Informs management of potential serious situations or matters that may result in company liability.

• Balances and understands business and employees’ needs to recommend continuous improvement in the development of policies and procedures and to meet business objectives.

• Provides total compensation analysis which includes evaluating salary survey data, job, employee benefits, assessing starting and promotional pay, job leveling and writing job descriptions.

• Works with insurance brokers and management to assess benefit plan offerings and renewal rates in order to provide a program that attracts talent and retains current employees.

• Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations

• Processes retirement plan (401K) enrollments and loans

• Coordinates and processes Workers’ Compensation claims and OFLA and FMLA leaves.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, business, or related field.

• Minimum five years Human resources experience.

• A combination of education, training and experience will be considered

• SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
