Citigroup Officer - Reference Data Services Analyst 2 - Accounts Services - EMEA Shift in City of Taguig, Philippines

Job Purpose:

Data and Regulatory Operations (DRO) is responsible for providing authoritative sources of reference data to our clients across the organization, through implementing state of the art technologies which promote the collection, storage, analysis, and distribution of product, pricing, account and corporate action data. The DRO organization works in partnership with data clients across all business lines, deploying solutions to increase their competitiveness, through restructuring business processes, simplifying information access, and providing business intelligence around critical data.

The Account and SSI Operations (ASO) is responsible for opening and maintaining customer sub-accounts reference data, and actively ensuring that customer data details and settlement instructions across a variety of systems remain up to date. The team will work closely with Sales, Middle Office, KYC and Global ASO teams to ensure that a globally consistent model is followed with respect to this critical reference data. The team ensures that statutory and regulatory obligations are met when new relationships with clients are established. Before trading occurs, the ASO team will verify all details of the client from a regulatory and control perspective for Institutional Client Accounts for Equities, Fixed Income and Foreign Exchange business units.

Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities of the team include:

  • Ensuring all documented processes are followed correctly

  • Opening New Sub Accounts in e-Sales for both new and existing clients and maintaining Client Static Data on existing sub accounts

  • Ensure agreed SLAs are met and delivery on targets and objectives in line with agreed timelines

  • Daily monitoring of quality and control reports to ensure all regulatory/document requirements are met and work with the account opening & KYC teams to escalate issues of non-compliance.

  • Candidate will assume a lead role on interactions with the middle office, front office, operations, and external counterparties.

  • The candidate should be comfortable in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment, be customer service oriented, and have an ability to identify and lead the implementation of process improvements.

  • Liaison with other account control teams globally to ensure customer subaccounts are opened correctly and meet local regulatory requirements prior to trading activity and perform data quality reviews.

  • Ensure customers classified in line with in-country, regional, and global regulatory and all other government requirements

  • Support Process Improvement initiatives by providing automation solutions using Microsoft Access, Macros, Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite tools.

  • Responsible to own and drive projects as assigned including scheduling calls/meetings with local/regional stakeholders as required.

  • Updating Panorama for related projects and ensuring green status. Escalations when necessary

  • Participation and representation in Projects Updates calls as required including providing necessary updates

  • Provide business analytics support on existing process and future migrations inclusive of liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Providing feedback continually to improve the process

  • Take an active part in developing and maintaining MIS on end to end processes for tracking turnaround times of deliverables from team and other processing areas

Knowledge/Experience:

  • Previous banking experience, specifically of project management, business/data analytics, MIS technology innovation within a global financial services organization would be advantageous;

  • Previous experience in presenting and reporting key updates to offshore and onshore senior stakeholders and management.

  • Extensive understanding of the implication of reference data to trade lifecycle in equities, fixed income, foreign exchange and other products.

  • Previous experience on handling industry regulatory reference data such as that of China Stock Connect, MIFID II and Consolidated Audit Trail

  • Must have experience of/desire to work in a fast paced, metrics and deadline oriented department

  • Experience with working with a large, global organization.

  • Understanding of Citi’s internal policies and processes and the ability to quickly identify areas of weakness.

  • Familiarity with SAP Business Objects and reporting functionality would be a big plus

  • Excellent awareness of and adherence to audit & risk controls

Qualifications:

  • Willing to work on EMEA shift

  • A business related degree would be advantageous, however less relevant than extensive ‘in situ’ experience

  • Capital markets product knowledge is useful

  • Experience working to deadlines.

  • 2-3 years’ experience working with reference data operations facing Core Macro products (FX, FXO, Rates, Local currency sovereign, and Money Markets), and markets is essential.

  • Ability to speak Japanese, Cantonese and Mandarin is a plus
