Robert Half Quality Control Inspector in City of Industry, California

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Quality Control Inspector at our manufacturing facility located in the City of Industry, California. Your main objective in this role will be to ensure that our manufacturing processes are carried out in compliance with industry standards, and that our products meet quality requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspection, release or rejection of all samples submitted within 24 hours of receipt.

• Manage retains records and pull samples as needed.

• Ability to comprehend environment of fast production and the need for urgency in getting things done without compromising the quality of the product.

• Ability to switch priorities while working closely with DC (distribution center) to inspect and release or reject rush shipments.

• Read data, manuals, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required.

• Record inspection records and issue rejection reports to manufacturing centers, marketing, the DC and QC management.

• Mark items with details such as grade or acceptance-rejection status.

• Notify supervisor or QC management of problems.

• Work directly with Marketing brand teams on establishment of product standards and QC related issues for incoming shipment.

• Write and distribute inspection reports describing issues with complete clarity and taking pictures and inserting into report. Recommend necessary corrective actions.

• Work to document and obtain final disposition of rejected products from person, department responsible for disposition decision to effectively close-out the inspection process.

• Communicate with the DC on a daily basis.

• Communicate on a regular basis with all marketing brand teams as needed.

• Compare colors, shapes, textures, application, packaging of finished or semi-finished products to verify conformance to standards.

• Send products to 3rd party testing labs for analysis and track results as needed.

• Strive to bring change, improvement and efficiency to the IQC (incoming quality control) process with well thought out suggestions.

• Work with DC as needed for line setups and QC supervision during corrective action runs of rejected semi-finished and finished products.

• Maintain and renew semi-finished and finished product standards with marketing teams as needed and effectively communicate standard renewals to manufacturing centers and contract manufacturers.

• Write QC reports as needed and assist in developing SOPs for IQC.

• Perform other duties as needed and directed by management.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience in a Quality Control Inspector role within the manufacturing industry

• Proficient in Android Development and Atlassian Jira

• Experience with Bug Tracking and Database management

• Knowledgeable in EO/IR systems

• Have a good understanding and experience with AB Testing

• Familiar with Agile Scrum methodologies

• Auditing skills are necessary

• Prior experience in Call Center Customer Service and Customer Service

• Ability to handle Sample Requests effectively

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites

• Demonstrated ability to Conduct Inspections in a manufacturing settinG
