Michelman Representative, Inside Sales in Cincinnati, Ohio

General Summary

Currently, we are seeking an Inside Sales Representative who is self-motivated, energetic, and dynamic. You will be tasked with managing and growing our potential prospects, along with some of our strategic, smaller “house accounts.” You will also help identify prospects and execute outreach plans across our strategic new market segments. As an integral part of our growing team, you will also qualify all incoming leads, segment them, and provide ongoing sales support to increase revenue, improve profitability and to foster excellent customer relationships. You will also collaborate with our Technology and Marketing teams to execute strategic marketing activities and growth initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Accountable for territory growth, development of new business opportunities, and maintaining high customer satisfaction through meaningful customer relationships.

  • Penetrate accounts to access decision-makers with a strong value proposition, assess, recognize and qualify opportunities within each account; Document in SalesForce CRM accordingly

  • Follow up on warm and cold leads to further the sales process and drive customers towards closure.

  • Practice proactive outreach to identify new opportunities.

  • Development and maintain relationships with internal, external customers and prospects

  • Identify and map customer leadership roles and align with Michelman Leadership

  • Arrange and coordinate effective leadership meetings with the customer and the appropriate Michelman leader.

  • Partner with Regional Sales Director to plan and develop strategic direction of sales efforts

  • Provide customer volume forecasts via close collaboration with accounts regarding product requirements, seasonality, business trends driven by commercial conditions, etc.

  • Inform Sales Director of market trends, competitive products, and pricing trends

Critical Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proven track record of managing an account base and demonstrating growth within those accounts.

  • Motivated self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit looking to grow into Account Manager role or other elevated sales roles.

  • Experience at building sales pipelines and moving a prospect through sales funnel to create new business.

  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, and prioritization skills

  • Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills

  • Must be detail-oriented and organized.

  • Able to perform financial calculations.

  • Ability to quickly learn Michelman products and specialized business software, including SalesForce.com

Other

  • Must be willing to travel occasionally to customer sites

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science field such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or 5+ years of experience in specialty chemicals.

  • Minimum of 2 years of specialty chemical sales experience.

  • Experience or familiarity with packaging films/constructions, coating for Barrier/Oxygen transmission/Heat-seal/Adhesion promotion, resins or polymers.

  • Experience in sales with proven record of success orchestrating technical solutions for paper and or film packaging applications.

  • Success bringing existing and new product solutions to solve customer challenges, winning new applications and accounts.

Work Hours

Michelman’s standard work hours for this role are Monday – Friday from 8 am – 5 pm EST.
