Ametek Inc. Quality Technician in Cincinnati, Ohio

Summary: Involves the preparation and testing of electrical connectors for qualification and acceptance. Support Quality Assurance initiatives throughout the manufacturing process. Responsibilities:

  • Ability to solder wires to connectors.
  • Operate test equipment, including electrical, humidity, salt spray, pressure, temperature, etc.
  • Coordinate special testing to support all military standards and First Article inspection requirements.
  • Support Defense Supply Center (DSCC) Validation Testing/Reporting Support and EN2997/ESC 10 as well.
  • Communication with Qualified Organizations (Defense Logistics Agency, ASD-STAN, ASD-Cert, etc.)
  • Backup and support documentation retention; preservation, scanning prep (routers, receivers & transfers), as well as disposal (backup & support).
  • Accurate data collection and data entry keyboarding.
  • The successful candidate must be able to understand verbal and written instructions, process and handle parts error and damage free, and work in an organized manner on multiple tasks.
  • Process Quality Support; Process Corrective Action Implementation as assigned; Mfg. Testing support; and Standard Work Instructions.
  • Ability to investigate durability failures.
  • Support Quality Department and Plant in local audits and DLA audit preparation, review and corrective action.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in electrical preferred.
  • Experience in electrical laboratory testing.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Quality or inspection experience.
  • Aircraft or Military product systems.
  • Capable or Certified solderer.
  • Familiar with: Connector Specification, MIL-DTL-38999, MIL-DTL-26482, MIL-DTL-83723, EN2997, & ESC10.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Windows operating system and Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiar with basic inspection and GD & T.
  • Manufacturing experience with broad process knowledge.
  • Strong communication skills (written/oral).
  • Math Skills.
  • Excellent attendance history.
  • Willingness to work overtime as required.
  • The ability to deal with multiple priorities and make decisions.
  • Must be capable of walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods and occasionally lifting up to 30 lbs. in weight.
