The opportunity

Teva is searching for a Production Expert I (Packaging Specialist) to join our team in Cincinnati, OH!

This position is an entry-level role in packaging technologies such as bottle filling and blister thermoforming. You will be responsible for packaging operational support including root cause problem solving, continuous improvement, deviation investigations, and corrective action plans.

You will lead projects to enhance performance in OEE through TPM to include equipment reliability, minimize quality write-offs, and improve equipment throughput. This facility is a women’s hormonal production operation and use and ability to work in gowning and respirators a requirement but infrequent in this role.

How you’ll spend your day

  • Develop and utilize engineering education for the technical understanding of equipment and systems that support packaging operations. Primary and secondary packaging equipment knowledge and expertise is used to help understand and improve upon the operational aspect of equipment and related uptime.

  • Exercise authority to investigate, analyze, and document investigations into equipment and operational failures.

  • Develop appropriate corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrences and implement those actions.

  • Function with moderate level direction from supervisor and able to conduct investigations using standard processes and procedures.

  • Promote a learning environment with focus on continuous improvement using tools from Operational Excellence, Lean, and Six Sigma to deliver better business outcomes and safer and more compliant routines within the production department. Focus on improving the equipment and systems to operate the equipment trains.

  • Be an individual contributor to continuous improvement with the ability to form and participate on teams to understand current and future states for better quality, safety, compliance, and efficiency outcomes.

  • Execute to departmental plans and priorities to address reoccurring problems; receive guidance from senior management.

Your experience and qualifications

Education & Qualification:

BS degree in related Engineering or Scientific field preferred.

The following combinations may also be acceptable.

Associates of Science degree and 6 or more years of experience within pharmaceutical or related manufacturing facility.

12 or more years of experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred).

Total Productive Maintenance implementation experience preferred. Experience with Thermal-formers, bottle fillers, serialization, MES ERP systems preferred.
