Cleaning Technologies Group Product Manager in Cincinnati, Ohio

Job Title: Product Manager

Reports To: Director of Engineering

Exemption Classification: Salary, Exempt

Location: Cincinnati, OH

Summary: Leadership position responsible for maintaining products base design, strategic product updates as well as addressing challenges with internal and external customers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS to PERFORM DUTIES

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with a wide range of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, purchasing and service to provide product definition responsive to customer needs, pre/post sale and post ship.

• Assist the Ransohoff sales engineers and the representatives with product opportunities including joint sales calls and/or presentations, when necessary.

• Have responsibility and accountability for gross margin and “on-time” delivery of product line machinery and projects as assigned.

• Give support/guidance to Proposal Department on assigned product line and where special features and specifications are required.

• Provide technical assistance and guidance to Ransohoff personnel including Technical Service and Aftermarket, CTG Asia and customers relative to the product line and other projects as assigned.

• Provide mentoring, employee development, coaching, and leadership of all team members.

• Coordinate with sales regarding new opportunities, product competitiveness, warranty issues as well as vetting customer requested improvements.

• Work with manufacturing analyzing and improving ease of manufacturability.

• Coordinate with Innovation on research and development projects as well as product improvements relative to product line and projects as assigned.

• Recommends the nature and scope of present and future product lines by reviewing product specifications and requirements, appraising new product ideas and/or product or packaging changes.

• Maintain SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM.

• Coordinate weekly production meeting as needed.

• Provide leadership and organization to co-op program, including interviews and hiring of co-ops.

• Maintain Engineering Design Manual and standard components library, including Ransohoff design standards.

• Design and provide departmental training relative to product line and other subjects as directed.

• Attend and provide feedback/direction in design reviews and project definition meetings for assigned product line(s)

• Other functions as directed.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Indirect to all project team personnel. General to Manufacturing, Sales/Service, Purchasing and Accounting.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, and 7 years industry related experience. Proficiency with Solidworks and AutoCAD.

Overall Skills: Product Management, People Management, Understanding the Customer, Product Development, Requirements Analysis, Technical Writing, Pricing, Planning, Competitive Analysis, Inventory Control, Financial Planning and Strategy

Language Skills: Must be able to communicate verbally and/or in writing with other employees, other departments, supervision, customers and management. Must have above average ability to express oneself in written and verbal form. Must be able to present information to groups of employees, customers, vendors etc.

Mathematical Skills: Must be able to perform advanced level mathematics reasoning (algebraic formulas, trigonometry, and strength of materials for example), as well as use calculations consistent with the design of equipment in the cleaning equipment industry.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Maintain local, regional and/or national membership in appropriate professional organizations /associations.

Physical Demands: Must be able to adjust visual focus. May be required to reach, stoop and/or bend on an as needed basis. Must be able to climb stairs as necessary. Some travel will be required.

Work Environment: Traditional office atmosphere. Temperature standard. Quiet noise level. May be required to go into factory environment.

Travel: Must be able to periodically travel to customer’s jobsite for project reviews, startups, machine commissioning and warranty work as dictated by project. All projects do not require travel, most stays are from 1 to 2 days some could be more.
