Job Title: EDM Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled EDM Operator to perform operations on EDM machines. The role involves loading and unloading parts, part inspection, electrode preparation and changing, and maintaining machine logs and records. The ideal candidate will maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area and ensure high-quality production with minimal scrap.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload parts on EDM machines.

• Inspect parts for quality control.

• Prepare and change electrodes (training provided).

• Clean and perform preventive maintenance and minor adjustments on EDM machines.

• Prepare various logs and records to document machine operation and daily production.

• Enter required data into the computer (basic computer skills needed).

• Move and transport parts to appropriate locations using rolling tables.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area.

• Receive, review, and refer to various records or reports including travelers, shift reports, SOPs, and safety sheets.

• Prepare labor sheets and non-conformance forms.

• Interact and communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and other shop personnel.

• Set up and switch jobs as required (training provided).

• Produce more than 98% efficiency on a daily basis, ensuring high-quality output.

• Maintain excellent attendance.

• Verify all parts are conforming before signing off on traveler.

• Keep track of all scrap and seek corrective action.

Essential Skills

• High School Diploma or GED (required for starting).

• Good basic computer skills.

• Mechanical aptitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• CNC or other machine operation experience.

• Aerospace experience.

• EDM experience.

• Experience with micrometers and calipers.

Work Environment

The work environment requires standing, using hands, reaching with hands and arms, and effective communication. The role involves working in confined spaces and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level may be loud, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Approximately 10% of the workday involves working in an office environment using a computer.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00
