Lab Technician Category: Life Science Employment Type: Contract Reference: BH-370553 Lhboratory Analyst II Thermo Fisher ID # 24671-1 Cincinnati, OH - ON SITE 12 month W2 contract (with potential to extend or transition to perm) Pay rate: $17-19/hour - Depending on Education and Experience Shift: 2nd shift: 2:30pm to 10pm Monday to Friday Location/Division Specific Information: Our Cincinnati Pharmaceutical Services Group develops and manufactures a wide range of pharmaceutical products to enable our customers to make a healthier world. Summary: As a Lab technician you will support the laboratory operations by maintaining supplies, glassware and prepared reagents for Scientists. In addition, you will support our customers by performing some routine chemical and physical tests on various lab samples. Responsibilities: Prepare analytical reagents and solutions as directed by analytical test methods. Operate automated glass washing equipment and maintain glassware stock in laboratories. Routinely dispose of laboratory waste in accordance with SOP and regulatory requirements. Order and maintain inventory of reagent chemicals used in the laboratory. Conduct routine chemical and physical testing of pharmaceutical raw materials, finished products, and stability samples by internally developed and compendial test methods. Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation as needed. Clearly and accurately communicate the results of work by creating documentation of the testing/analysis and obtained results. Record and report results of analysis in accordance with prescribed lab procedures and systems. Maintain and organize work area, instrumentation, and testing materials. Perform all duties in strict compliance with Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and Safety guidelines. Skills or Requirements: Typically requires no previous related experience. Experience performing chemical or physical tests with chromatographic, spectroscopic, or other analytical technique preferred. Competencies: Understanding of safe work practices. Knowledge of chemical hazards. Ability to read and follow detailed procedures and instructions Good problem solving skills and logical approach to solving problems. Good interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written). Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to apply mathematical operations, to such tasks as determination of test reliability, analysis of variance, and correlation techniques. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of software including Microsoft Outlook for email. Education/Experience: High School Diploma minimum educational requirement. What's In It For You?
