The Division Project Manager - Sales Development is a key contributor to our sales team, supporting the packaging distribution industry. This role is tailored for professionals looking to develop their expertise and transition into a future sales position. The role focuses on managing Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), preparing quotes and RFQs, resolving customer escalations, and assisting with pricing strategies. Guided by experienced sales representatives, the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience and mentorship to prepare for a direct sales role. Key Responsibilities: Project Management: Manage sales support initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet customer expectations. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align on deliverables. Mentorship and Sales Development: Partner with experienced sales reps to learn best practices, strategies, and customer management techniques. Participate in customer visits, sales calls, and account reviews to gain practical experience. Develop sales skills and industry knowledge to transition into a direct sales role. Pricing and Analysis: Support sales representatives in developing competitive pricing strategies. Monitor and analyze market pricing trends to ensure alignment with company goals. Customer Escalation Management: Act as the primary contact for resolving escalated customer issues. Investigate, document, and resolve concerns promptly, ensuring customer satisfaction. Communicate resolutions effectively with customers and internal stakeholders. Quotations and RFQs: Prepare detailed and accurate quotations and responses to RFQs based on customer requirements. Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely and competitive submissions. Track RFQs and follow up with customers for feedback. Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI): Manage and maintain inventory levels for key customer accounts. Conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure alignment with customer demand and minimize stock discrepancies. Build relationships with customers to streamline inventory processes and improve satisfaction. Career Growth Path: This role is intended as a steppingstone toward an outside sales position. The Sales Support Project Manager will receive structured mentoring, training, and developmental opportunities to prepare for this transition. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) required 2+ years of experience in sales support, project management, or customer service Proficiency in CRM software (Salesforce preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, and inventory management tools. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities. Self-starter with a strong desire to advance into a sales career. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with the packaging distribution industry. Experience managing inventory programs and preparing complex quotes or RFQs.
