Job Overview As the Associate Director of the Counseling Center at the University of Cincinnati, you will manage daily administration under the supervision of a designated administrator. The Center's primary functions include training psychology professionals, offering psychological services to students, and fostering a supportive community for student well-being. This role carries key administrative responsibilities, acting as the backup administrator to the Director. You will create job descriptions, make hiring decisions, and conduct annual performance reviews for CAPS staff. Collaborating with the Director, you will be fully responsible for the clinical operation of CAPS, including setting and updating clinical policies and procedures, providing guidance to clinicians, and managing client assignments. You will provide clinical supervision to staff before their licensure, create coverage plans for the center, develop strategies for clinical services, and oversee the reception area's clinical functions. You will manage individual & group services, assessments, ARISE, Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) programs, and the Care Management Team (CMT). Additionally, you will provide direct counseling, crisis intervention, and outreach services to students. Working with the Director, Associate Director of Clinical Services, and Assistant Director of Training, you will develop and implement policies consistent with institutional needs and ethical professional practice. Essential Functions * Responsible for the overall direction of the Counseling Center. * Prepare, submit and administer the departmental annual budget, as well as authorize and approve expenditures, allocation of funds, and hiring process. * Provide support of the American Psychological Association (APA) Accredited Internship Training Program. * Providing culturally informed direct clinical services, including case management, and crisis counseling. * Responsible for the overall direction of the Counseling Center. * Prepare, submit and administer the departmental annual budget, as well as authorize and approve expenditures, allocation of funds, and hiring process. * Provide support of the American Psychological Association (APA) Accredited Internship Training Program. * Providing culturally informed direct clinical services, including case management, and crisis counseling. * Demonstrated commitment, skills and experience in equity and inclusion programming and clinical experience working with traditionally underserved or marginalized populations * Using best practices and evidence-based
