Job Overview The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a full-time, Assistant Professor - Educator position in American Sign Language (ASL), in the Department of Language and Culture Studies. This position is an in-person non-tenure eligible Assistant Professor - Educator position with a start date of August 15, 2025. The initial term is three (3) years and is renewable upon satisfactory performance. The retention and promotion criteria for Educator faculty emphasize teaching excellence, leadership in instructional innovation, and service. Research productivity is not expected or evaluated but is permitted. This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship. Essential Functions Prepare courses and teach an average of 12 contact hours per semester in the Fall and Spring. semesters. The primary content area for this position is American Sign Language. Hold a minimum of four office hours per week. Participate in governance and service to the department, such as, but not limited to, participation in departmental committees and attending department and UCBA faculty meetings. Participate in professional development opportunities related to pedagogy and/or language teaching, including, but not limited to, attending conferences. Minimum Requirements Prior to effective date of appointment, all of the following: Bachelor's Degree in American Sign Language or closely related field. Master's Degree in American Sign Language preferred. Near-native proficiency in American Sign Language. One (1) academic year of college-level teaching experience in American Sign Language.
