The Salvation Army Anti-Human Trafficking Clinical Specialist in Cincinnati, Ohio

Overview

DEPARTMENT: Social Ministries, Anti-Human TraffickingREPORTS TO: Anti-Human Trafficking ManagerSUPERVISES: N/ASTATUS: Non-ExemptSCHEDULE: Full-time. Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays in order to fulfill duties as outlined below.FUNCTION: This position will provide 24 hour emergency response to survivors of human trafficking and/or commercial sexual exploitation, coordinate street outreach and the Well and provide individual and group counseling forsurvivors.

Responsibilities

  1. Respond to emergency calls placed to the 24/7 trafficking hotline.2. Assess the immediate needs and safety of the caller.3. When requested by caller, coordinate with law enforcement to ensure the victim’s safe removal from the trafficking situation.4. Utilize Salvation Army and End Slavery Cincinnati (ESC) resources to ensure that the victim’s immediate needs are met, including safe temporary housing, clothing, food, medical care and mental health care.5. Develop a safety plan and a service plan in coordination with the victim.6. Facilitate group and individual counseling to trafficked persons using evidence based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, Trauma Resiliency Empowerment Model, etc.7. Research Evidence Based Practices in working with trafficked persons and utilize in case management and therapeutic service delivery.8. Coordinate and implement the Well drop in center, including recruiting participants, developing curriculum, securing guest speakers, facilitating program activities and conducting therapy sessions.9. Coordinate the weekly Street Outreach program.10. Maintain accurate and timely case notes and statistical records.11. Ensure that all required reports are completed on time.12. Attend individual supervisorial and team meetings.13. Attend the monthly ESC meetings.14. Attend any ESC subcommittee meetings as necessary or requested.15. Ensure that services are delivered to participant using a client-centered, strengths –based approach.16. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all Anti-Human Trafficking participants.17. Attend all in-service Professional Development training sessions.18. Request needed program supplies and materials from Anti-Human Trafficking Manager.19. Follow rules, regulations, and policies of the Department of Social Services and The Salvation Army.20. Complete other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Licensed Social Worker in the State of Ohio. Master of Social Work preferred.2. Experience working with victims of human trafficking is preferred. Experience working with victims of other traumatic crimes, such as domestic violence or sexual assault is required.3. Willingness to uphold and support The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.4. Successfully obtain and maintain driving privileges per The Salvation Army insurance standards, including maintaining access to a personal vehicle and insurance coverage for transportation needs related to this position. Mileage reimbursement will be utilized where appropriate.
