Governor Juan F. Luis Hospital Clinical Care Coordinator in Christiansted, Virgin Islands

[POSITION SUMMARY [To provide nursing services focused on the consistent delivery of patient-family centered care resulting in the delivery of quality patient care and best customer experience through highly engaged JFL teams of physicians, clinical and support staff. *[POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES]{arial="" narrow",sans-serif"=""}]{arial="" narrow",sans-serif"=""}]{arial="" narrow",sans-serif"=""}* 1. Assumes responsibility for coordination and delivery of 24/7 nursing care on designated units calling for productivity hours. 2. Interdepartmental liaison for designated unit, medical staff, ancillary and support staff. 3. Ensures compliance with Federal and Territorial regulatory agencies including the Center of Medicare and Medical Services (CMS). 4. Demonstrates ability to evaluate and determine levels of nursing care with respect to collective bargaining agreements and JFL Human Resources Policy and Procedures. 5. Develops, coordinates and implements process improvements initiatives and new programs/services using JFLs designated process improvement methodology. 6. Acts as community resource for services and information to patients, families and physicians. 7. Demonstrates knowledge of age specific care, including but not limited to, identifying the need for additional safety measures, physiological normal values/readings; and assessing skin integrity, behavior, motor skill and activities that place patients at risk, 8. Maintains confidentiality of patients personal health information and department information. 9. Oversees the provisions of adequate staff for nursing personnel for all shifts compilation and maintenance of the staffing schedules and staffing forms. Refers to established unit staffing plans based on national or hospital based established benchmarks. 10. Collaborates with Human Resources to ensure roster of nursing personnel for designated unit(s) and contact information remains current. 11. Oversees designated nursing units as they serve as patient advocates and clinical resources in the coordination and delivery of patient care; assures adherence to approved practices, procedures, and standard of care 12. Participates in organizational leadership through attendance at hospital committees and task forces; promotion of employees; job satisfaction and retention especially new graduate nurses 13. Ensures quality patient care and patient flow as a strategic initiativeusing bed board forum 14. Promotes a culture of safety and a just culture that encourages the identification and communication of problems regarding ethical issues that may surface between professionals and patients. 15. Promotes professional environments that yields respect for patients and employee rights and sensitivity to patients and employee comfort and privacy (confidentiality). Acts as patient and employeeadvocate. 16. Promotes a culture of sensitivity to diverse backgrounds and behaviors that recognizes cultural and religious diversity.
