Chris Preble is working with an East Syracuse manufacturing company that has a newly created Assistant Controller opportunity. This is not a hybrid role, it's an in office position but does have a good bonus and opportunity to grow vertically in the organization.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team. As an Assistant Controller, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting the Controller in various accounting activities, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

• Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the Controller to develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports.

• General Ledger Maintenance: Oversee the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

• Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to support decision-making, identify trends, and provide insights into the company's financial performance.

• Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, including tax filings, audits, and financial controls.

• Ad hoc projects as required

  Requirements

• CPA or MBA or in progress a plus

• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting

• Manufacturing or construction industry experience is a plus
