COUNTY OF CHIPPEWA Forest Maintenance Technician Part-Time in CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wisconsin
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Chippewa County\'s Land Conservation and Forest Management Department is accepting applications for a part-time Forest Maintenance Technician position. The job duties of the Forest Maintenance Technician include but are not limited to provide professional forestry tasks required to maintain quality recreational trails for use by residents and tourists including prompt response to storm damage and debris; to establish and maintain Best Maintenance Practices (BMP\'s) for water quality to minimize adverse environmental impacts of recreational trail use and timber harvesting operations; to support and augment the efforts of individual volunteers and user groups. This is a part-time position (975 hours annually), that is expected to work three (3) nine-hour days per week. These days are scheduled during the Mon-Fri work week (no nights, weekends or holidays). Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather and conditions. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required Two (2) years related work experience required Welding, metal fabrication, and construction experience preferred. Valid driver\'s license required and a class A CDL may be required within 6 months of hire. A cell phone is required.
